Ingredient list:
Buy rather small aubergines your casserole dish will determine how many aubergines you need unfortunately I used 6 rather larger aubergines because I couldn't find any smaller ones in the store. In a Turkish shop you are most likely to find the small eggplants.

Filling:
500 g minced meat of your choice
100ml water or vegetable broth to deglaze
2 large onions
2 cloves garlic
2 chopped fresh tomatoes rather large ones
1 green pepper in small cubes
1 red bell pepper, cut into small cubes
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp cumin (cumin)
1 tsp paprika powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt

Sauce:
200 ml of tomato passata
300 ml water or vegetable broth
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp tomato paste

You can use salt, pepper and the amount of other spices according to your own taste. I used vegetable oil to fry the aubergines. The oil should stand about 2 cm in the pan. Oil that is still in the pan after frying can be used to fry the onions and for the minced meat.
