Astypalaia has always been in my last summer list and rightfully so. It looks like a butterfly on the map and although it belongs to Dodekanisa, it has a strong Cycladic aura, thanks to the whiteblue houses, the windmills and the Venetian Castle. Unique in its peacefulness, Astypalaia combines traits from both island groups and has many hidden “treasures” such as dreamy beaches that are waiting to be discovered. It’s the ideal choice for the lovers of alternative holidays.
