Aspiration example - Daisy the toy poodle breathing sounds (before it becomes aspiration pneumonia)

Follow
FurLife

In this video, Daisy, a toy poodle, is breathing with extra effort and a noisy wheeze when she exhales. Her respiratory rate is 44 breaths per minute. Breathing with this much effort is exhausting. These signs indicate that she needs immediate veterinary care.

She had aspirated a bit of stomach contents (vomit) while sleeping, as she suffered from bouts of regurgitation. Her family rushed her to the nearest emergency hospital within 30 minutes of the incident.

She was hospitalized for two days, but made a full recovery. See more about her story and what to do if your pet aspirates, as it can quickly turn into pneumonia. https://www.preventivevet.com/pets/as...
