Is there proper research showing that plants feel pain? Truth is no, not a single one. However there are many articles with clickbait headlines floating about the internet claiming that plants can feel pain and suffer. Even if that were a true statement what should be the takeaway from that?
Does force impregnating, torturing and killing billions of innocent animals now become all right because "plants feel pain"?
To be logically consistent with that argument then you must also address every form of human violence and oppression with the logic that "plants feel pain". By that logic any form of action and violence in society can be justified by saying plants feel pain. The vast majority of non vegans are addicted to the "taste" and "pleasures" of meat, dairy, eggs and honey. Therefore they come with senseless rationalisations to justify their actions.
Be consistent, be Vegan.
