Almost every conversation I have with drummers about electric drum sets have a negative slant to them. Why is that? BECAUSE OF THE HIHAT!!!

In this video I teamed up with Sweetwater to talk about the new Roland VPad VH14D Digital HiHat Controller that they have developed that FIXES all of the issues with electronic drum set hihats.

I’m playing a Roland TD27 KV Electronic Drum Set Gen 1 drum set in this video. The gen 2 of this kit comes with the upgraded hihat. I have never loved playing on electric drums…but this changed that. It was extremely enjoyable to play an electric hihat that responded in real time to my drumming needs.
