In this NYC apartment tour 2022, we continue the visit of Ann ‘s mid century modern apartment in Queens New York. We started with a home office tour. And explained that she doesn’t really like working from home and as a consequence our home office set up is thawed out to blend with the rest of her home. The focus in this space is the beautiful art piece that hangs right above the desk. Ann’s home office design includes a sewing table that she has transformed into a home office desk as well as a chair that she found in her neighborhood so it’s vintage. Finally, the home office light is composed of a museum looking lamp that really brings some playfulness to the space.
Next, we moved to Ann ‘s dining room decor. She explained that her dining room/nook is composed of these beautiful leather tables and chairs that she bought a few years ago. What made the difference is the DIY she tried on her chairs and table. Basically, although she loved her dining room Decor she really wanted to see what was behind the paint. Which is why she decided to peel it and it revealed to be a beautiful leather that goes so well with the rest of the space. Another dining room decorating idea that and shared with us is the beautiful rug that she hung right above the dining knock, which helps still imitate and create the space. The kitchen story is pretty cool. Ann loves cooking and she explains that as she lives in Astoria Queens, New York City it was important that her New York City apartment was a space in which she was able to cook. In this space, she remain in this mid century, modern apartment decor, which has been the theme all around her apartment. This space has a star and the star is the fridge. And decorated her fridge with every postcard prints and everything that represents who she is in terms of home decor, ideas, believes, and likes. The kitchen is also spacious enough to have all of the appliances that are important for someone who likes to cook. And also has a few kitchen cooking books that I think we would all love to look through.
In the living room, we started with the corner that heals the library. And explain that she felt like this was one of the only corners in her New York apartment that was still a work in progress. This corner contained many books, because Ann loves reading autobiographies, as well as books around design. It also has a beautiful telescope, as well as plants and a tapestry on the wall.
Next was maybe one of my favorite corner in Ann’s home and that is her record player as well as her record set. Ann has been collecting records since she was younger and this is a passion of hers. That was really beautiful to see displayed, but also talk about. Her records and her record player really Give more personality to her home Decor that is already beautiful. She even was kind enough to give some advice for the people who would like to start with a brand new record player.
After that we moved to one of the last corners of this living room tour and that was the chilling nook. And explain that she bought this armchair at IKEA and that she really enjoys resting there with a book after work.
Last, but definitely not least is the couch. One really good home Decor idea that Ann shared was to buy from websites that sell open boxes, meaning couches and sofas that are untouched but have been opened. Apparently it helps lower the price consequently. And chose a green velour sofa. That is very comfortable and can be a place where friends can crash if need be. Write up this beautiful sofa is more art that and has been collecting from her travels and her different hobbies.
The coffee table in the living room is worth a mention, as its warm wood really complements the Turkish rug underneath.

I was really delighted with this New York City apartment tour in Queens. New York. Not only did I have fun with Ann but I also got to explore a space that, to this day, all I still think about.
