This week's Metal Detecting video threw a monkey wrench in my whole schedule. I was finishing up editing my Digstock part 2 video when DogTag Doug called and said an old Colonial Farm we've been trying to get access to just became available. The catch, it's already been planted so our window for detecting is very small since the crops have already started sprouting. So I dropped everything and went out with Doug to do a scouting mission. I was only hoping to get the lay of the land and try to find some hot spots so we could go back in the fall after the harvest. Well little did I realize that from the second we turned our machines on the old coins and buttons would start flowing; the earliest American coins, 1700's buttons, and then it happened! One coin that is so old, so rare, and so incredibly made; it easily became not only my greatest coin that I've ever found, but at the same time the OLDEST coin anyone of us has ever unearthed!
