The globetrotter must then take the bus to reach the station, which is in the suburbs. There, he boards a train in sad condition, but full of history, with coffee service on board.
He arrives in Elbasan, in the middle of the countryside. A farmer, busy plowing his field, takes him to the cattle market. A water bus then allows him to cross Lake Koman, one of the most beautiful sites in Albania.
In Durrës, on the shores of the Adriatic, he meets Lali, a “virgin under oath” with a military appearance who illustrates the traditions still deeply anchored within the population.
