I have worked in a structure with aluminium foil. The aluminium foil makes folds that I use as structure and I use the luminosity of the foil for shimmering effects. You can see how I apply the aluminium foil with thicker acrylic binder. It was very easy. It took a while to dry. But I started painting when it was not completely dry yet.
Adhesion was more the "problem". The paint does not adhere well to aluminium foil. I therefore let the layers of paint dry well. Applying the paint is fun because it glides easily over the surface.

real blue, black, white, paris blue (dark blue), havana (dark golden ochre)

Tools, material you need:
Canvas, aluminium foil, acrylic binder or glue (wallpaper paste also works).
Spatula to work out the structure
simple large bristle brush to apply the paint
