The other day a girl wrote to me, asking to help a bird that landed on her balcony and didn't want to fly away. The bird turned out to be a young male goshawk, who missed his prey and crashed into the glass. Yegor helped me pick up the injured bird. The next day, I took the hawk to be examined at the "Golden Fleece" vet clinic in Lyubertsy by our avian vet Maria Markina.
At the same time, Maria examined a tawny owl that got hit by a train.
There is every chance that the hawk will recover, as long as there are no heart complications after the impact, but the owl's prognosis is not so reassuring: a compression fracture of three cervical vertebrae may not allow her to survive.
