You might not realise but your sewing skills are actually enhancing many of your other skills that you didn't realise were related!! In today's new video let's chat about my top skills!

Ironing! It might seem like a nobrainer BUT before you were sewing, how much ironing did you do? It was probably a chore to avoid but I bet now you whizz through ironing at speed and all of your clothes, no matter how fancy, are perfectly pressed!

Fabric & Fibres! Before sewing did you consider what fabrics clothes were made from, how they would last and handle? Probably not and I'm always surprised by how little knowledge people have of fabrics and have no idea of what their clothes are made from. Since you've been sewing I reckon you now judge the fabric choices and choose based on they feel and handle!

Don't you enjoy how the rest of the world fades away when you're focused and working on a project? Mindfullness and being able to tune out whatever chaos is going on elsewhere is a real benefit to not only your sewing but to life in general!

If you had known how much Maths would actually be involved in sewing would you actually have started?! Well, sewing makes us better at maths, be it calculating pleats, skirt widths, hem lengths, but especially when we start adjusting patterns and making them fit us!

One of the major skills that develop is precision scissor cutting! We are cutting so many tiny, intricate pieces that cutting anything else becomes a very easy task!
