Back again to Corral Canyon. I arrived late in the day and then hung out at the fire lookout on Los Pinos. It was interesting learning how they triangulate fires out in the backcountry. Needless to say I only had a few hours of trail time. The goal was to continue from the fire look out to Corte Madera Road then to run the Gunslinger trail. Corte Madera was a mellow trail with a few small obstacles. The area has lots of great granite formations of all scales. I only made it part way along Gunslinger because I stopped to look at a lot of the side trails. I had had no idea they existed. Time to find a better map of the area. The portion of Gunslinger that I traveled was fun. Lots of twisting though the chaparral and few decent granite obstacles. I nearly buckled on the last obstacle navigated during daylight. It took me three attempts to finally make the commitment. I am on these trails solo most of the time. I am not looking forward to busting my truck or getting stuck and having to hike out in the dark. This is also my daily driver. I must exercise some restraint. My intent of sharing these videos is to illustrate what one can do with a nearly stock 5th Generation 4runner. If I bust my truck it is lose, lose. I am definitely coming back out here with a spotter and more time to explore the trails my truck can handle.
