What makes the lemonades made at home so different from the lemonades you get in a café? Believe me, one reason is that they make lemonade not with raw sugar but with a cooked sugar syrup. Today I have shared with you the recipes of 5 lemonades to beat the heat this summer Classic, Masala, Watermelon, Pineapple Strawberry, Ginger Mint Lemonades.
Plus also the correct way of juicing lemons for lemonade, tips on how to store extra lemon juice, the right way of storing lemons and how to make the perfect sugar syrup.

Recipe :

Sugar Syrup
Preparation Time: 2 minutes
Cooking Time:5 minutes
Makes: 400ml

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
45 drops lemon juice

Method:
Take sugar and water in a pan. Bring to a boil. Add the lemon juice and clear away any scum that comes on the surface. Cook for 2 minutes. Cool and store refrigerated.

Classic Lemonade
Preparation Time: 23 minutes
Serves: 1

Ingredients:
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup sugar syrup
A pinch of salt
Water and ice to top

Method:
Add lemon juice, sugar syrup, salt in a glass. Stir. Top with ice, pour water to fill, stir and serve.

Masala Lemonade
Preparation Time: 23 minutes
Serves: 1

Ingredients:
For the masala:
1 tsp sendha namak
1 tsp kala namak
3 tsp bhuna jeera powder
1 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp chat masala powder
1.5 tsp mint powder
For the lemonade:
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup sugar syrup
1 tsp lemonade masala
Water and ice to top

Method:
Add lemon juice, sugar syrup, masala in a glass. Stir. Top with ice, pour water to fill, stir and serve.

Watermelon Basil Seed Lemonade
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients:
2 tsp basil seeds
4 cups chopped watermelon
¼ cup lemon juice
½ cup sugar syrup
½ tsp black salt
Ice to top

Method:
Soak the basil seeds in 1 cup water.
Blend the watermelon in a blender and pass through a sieve to get clear juice. Add in the
Lemon juice, sugar syrup, black salt and mix.
Place 2 tbsp soaked basil seeds in a glass, top with ice, watermelon lemonade and serve.


Pineapple Strawberry Lemonade
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 23

Ingredients:
1 cup pineapple juice
½ cup sugar syrup
¼ cup lemon juice
Strawberries
Mint leaves
Pineapple tit bits
Ice & water to top

Method:
Mix together the pineapple juice, lemon juice, sugar syrup.
Place some sliced strawberries, mint leaves in a glass and muddle. Top with ice. Pour in the lemonade, add pineapple tit bits, strawberry slices and serve.

Ginger Mint Lemonade
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 23

Ingredients:
4” piece ginger
1 cup mint leaves
Sugar syrup
Lemon juice
Ice

Method:
Grind together the mint leaves, ginger with half a cup of water to make a fine paste. Strain to extract juice.
In a serving glass, take 1 tbsp ginger mint juice, ¼ cup lemon juice, sugar syrup, ice and mix. Serve.
