We talk a lot about how your testosterone levels can change with age. But studies actually show age is the least of our worries when it comes to lowering testosterone levels. In today’s video, I’m going to cover 5 things you use everyday that are killing your Tlevels.

The one thing these all have in common is something called endocrine disruptors. Endocrine disruptors are compounds or ingredients (even natural stuff) that mess with your hormones, and specifically lower male testosterone levels. So let’s get into these.

Here are the 5 everyday things killing your testosterone levels:

#1: PLASTICS. Plastic is made with BPA which is one of the biggest endocrine disruptors there is. When liquids and food sit inside the plastic, those BPA chemicals leach into them, so you’re also consuming this endocrine disruptor. Instead of drinking from a plastic water bottle or keeping food in plastic containers, start drinking from a metal container or a mason jar, and storing food in glass containers.

#2: SHAMPOO. What’s wrong with your shampoo? Well, most shampoos you’ll find at the store, if not all of them, contain parabens. Parabens are another chemical that destroys your body’s production of testosterone. Your scalp absorbs these parabens when you wash your hair and that affects your testosterone levels.

#3: BEER. What you need to know about beer is the hops. The hops is a phytoestrogen. Phytoestrogen means it’s a plantbased estrogen. So when you drink beer, it increases your estrogen which lowers testosterone and can also lead to things like man boobs and stubborn belly fat (aka, the beer belly).

#4: DAIRY. I’ll admit, this one’s a tough one for me. I enjoy dairy from time to time. But a lot of the dairy we consume comes from cows that have been pumped with hormones. And those hormones also end up in our milk, cheese, and yogurt, which can disrupt our hormones and kill testosterone levels. If you’re going to consume dairy products, go organic. If not, try to avoid it.

#5: YOUR PHONE. There are a few things I could get into here, but I’ll stick with the one that’s mostly in your control. And that’s sitting up in bed, scrolling through your phone or watching videos on your phone. Doing that disrupts your sleep hormones and can impact whether or not you get deep sleep. Sleep is when your body produces most of its testosterone, so if you aren’t getting deep sleep 79 hours per night because you’ve been scrolling on your phone, it’s killing your testosterone.

Start making some changes with your daily habits and prioritize your testosterone, and you will start to notice gradual benefits to your health as a man!
