1. You must have a stable source of live mice and to learn to kill them correctly.
2. There are not many vets that can treat owls.
3. You can't keep an owl in a cage, because owls need to fly and they can traumatise themselves in the cage.
4. If you keep the owl in your apartment/home, it will perceive your apartment/home as its own territory and it may attack your pets, kids and guests.
