Join me as i take a trip to Westward SCANIA Strokestown Ireland, to check out 16 truck drivers competed against each other to be awarded the Irish National Finalist for the SCANIA Driver Competition. The winner will now travel to SCANIA Sweden at the end of May, to compete with the rest of the European finalists to win a brand new truck to the value of €100,000
The skills tasks that these drivers had to compete in were very difficult. Tricky maneuvers with articulated trucks, load securing and fault finding to name a few, all under close scrutiny. It's certainly not a competition for an inexperienced driver. I even had a go at one of the maneuvers myself...maybe that was a bad idea!! ..all great fun though.
