The 2nd gen Highlander took a different approach than most of its competitors. It opted to stay more SUVlike than the Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, 2011+ Nissan Pathfinder and Ford Explorer. The result was a crossover that is appealing to both families AND people that just want a little extra practicality.
