This race featured not only a group of classic racelore beast cars, but a lineup of racers rarely seen together on one track at the same time. Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti, Bruce McLaren, Dan Gurney, Graham Hill, Parnelli Jones, Jim Hall, and Richie Ginther were just a few of the racers in this large field of CanAm cars. The video includes a great in car lap of this hollowed race course one hour east of LA now displaced by housing projects. A record crowd, record purse and record speed were the hallmark of this classic racing event, the LA Times Grand Prix 1965.
