1. Biography:
Maria Sesaldo Gigante was born and raised in Cebu, Philippines.
She was born on September 8, 1995.
29 years old at the moment.
She is the eldest of seven siblings.
She is 5’8″ tall.

2. From 2006 to 2010, she attended Sacred Heart School in Cebu City.

3. From 2010 to 2014, she went to the University of San Carlos in Cebu City where she earned her bachelor’s degree in philosophy.

4. In March 2013, she volunteered and joined Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation.

5. In 2013, she competed in Miss Cebu and placed second runnerup.

6. In 2014, she competed in Reyna ng Aliwan and placed second runnerup.

7. On April 17, 2016, she competed against 39 other candidates at Binibining Pilipinas 2016 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She was unplaced.

8. On October 28, 2017, she represented Bantayan at Bb. Cebu 2017 and competed against 53 other candidates at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel in Cebu City.

She was runnerup to Apriel Smith and was crowned Bb. Cebu Charity 2017.

9. On October 19, 2018, she crowned her successor Bb. Cebu Charity 2018 Tracy Maureen Perez at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. 

10. On March 10, 2020, while Cebu was enforcing an enhanced community quarantine due to the COVID19 pandemic, she and Javier Filosa Castro, who was 25 at the time, were apprehended for consuming beer on a beach in Basdiot, Moalboal, Cebu.

They faced charges including disobedience to authority, falsification of a public document, and violations of two ordinances.

By May 13, 2020, after each posting a bail of 48,000 pesos ($900), they were released from the Moalboal Police Station and moved to Argao, Cebu, for quarantine.

11. On June 5, 2022, she represented Cebu at Miss World Philippines 2022 and competed against 35 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
She finished in the Top 11.

12. She was officially appointed Universal Woman Philippines 2024 on January 26, 2024.

13. Representing the Philippines, she competed in the Universal Woman 2024 contest against 43 other participants at PNN TV in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on March 22, 2024.
She emerged as the winner of the title.

14. Gigante will work on initiatives that protect women and children from physical and mental abuse through the nonprofit organization the Universal Woman organization has chosen to work with.
