Juan I Jong sincerely believes that when a photographer snaps a photo, only half of the credit should be given to the artist for his or her creativity; The rest of the half, to him, depends on pure luck. So every time he presses the shutter button, he puts his whole heart and soul in hopes of capturing the perfect moment. With more than four decades as a photographer, he has vividly recorded the essense of the past, the traditionally agriculturallybased society. In this eyecatching talk, Juan shares some of the interesting stories behind how these photos came to life.

IJong Juan may well be considered one of the most renowned photographers in Taiwan and in China. During his 40plus year career span, he has published over 10 special editions of photographic works. Juan is widely credited as a key figure in introducing Western photography to China, and connecting Chinese photography to the West. In 2013, he was presented with the first annual Global Chinese Photography Media Award in the "Award for Special Contribution to Photography & Culture" category.
