남미에 서식하는 안경곰에게는
꽤나 길고 신기한 역사가 있습니다.
녀석은 바로, 지구 역사상 가장 거대했던 곰,
아르크토테리움의 후예죠.
도대체 이 거대한 곰은 어쩌다 남미에 살게 됐고,
또 왜 이렇게 커진 걸까요?

그리고 왜 멸종했으며,
그들의 후손인 안경곰은
왜 조상과 달리 크기가 작아지게 된 걸까요?
