മലമേൽ 

കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലെ പത്തനാപുരം താലൂക്കിലെ ഒരു ഗ്രാമമാണ് മലമേൽ . ഈഗ്രാമം അഞ്ചലിനും  വളകത്തിനും ഇടയിലാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. മലയാളത്തിൽ മലമേൽ എന്നാൽ "മലയുടെ മുകളിൽ" എന്നാണ് അർത്ഥം.മലമേലിൽ ഒരു വലിയ പാറയുണ്ട്, അതിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ഒരു ശിവക്ഷേത്രമുണ്ട്. ഡിസംബർ 3 നാണ് ക്ഷേത്രോത്സവം നടക്കുന്നത്. 5 വാതിലുകളുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് ജഡായുപാറ (ചടയമംഗലം) ( ജഡായു തന്റെ ചിറകിൽ വഹിച്ചിരുന്ന പാറ) സാമീപ്യമുള്ളതിനാൽ ദിവ്യവും പുരാതനവുമാണെന്ന് കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ഇടതുവശത്തായി ഒരു ഗുഹയും ഇതിലുണ്ട്, 1946ൽ ഒരു ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് സാഹസികൻ സാഹസികമായി കടക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചത്  കുളത്തൂപ്പുഴ വനത്തിലേക്കാണ്. ഈ ഗുഹ വളരെ വിഷമുള്ള പാമ്പുകളുടെ സങ്കേതമാണെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. അറക്കൽ ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം  പെരുമണ്ണൂർ ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം  തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രശസ്തമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ സമീപത്താണ്. കൊട്ടാരക്കര ശ്രീ മഹാഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം 12 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ്.

In Malayalam, Malamel means "above the mountain".There is a large rock at the top of the hill and there is a famous Shiva temple on it. The temple festival is held on December 3. This 5door temple is considered to be divine and ancient as it is close to the Jadayupara (Chadayamangalam) (the rock that carries the Jadayu wings). There is also a cave on the left side of the temple. The cave is believed to be a haven for venomous snakes. Arakkal Devi Temple is one of the famous temples located near the Perumannur Devi Temple. Kottarakkara Sri Mahaganapati Temple is located at a distance of 12 km.
