Zoeller Sump Pump FIX For Not Switching On (Ping Pong Balls)

Follow

So after replacing the original switch due to it’s failure (wouldn’t turn off), my new switch had the opposite problem. It wouldn’t switch on. The float didn’t have enough to push it on. After my basement flooded twice, I looked into new pumps, but none were built to the quality of a Zoeller IMO.

I looked into hacks people tried, such as foam under the float, but the guy that did that said after a while it wasn’t effective.

So I decided to epoxy ping pong balls to my float. After 5 weeks, I’m happy to say this seems to be a fix.

I decided on ping pong balls because they are super light, but also air tight. They are round so they won’t get snagged on anything.

I bought the ping pong balls off of Amazon and epoxied them with JB Weld Epoxy I bought from Lowes.

Hopefully this helps people. My pump has been going off every 6 minutes with the snow melt and rain we are getting.
