Spinal stenosis really is a confusing topic, but it doesn’t have to be. Essentially it is when the nerves in the tunnel of the spine are getting squeezed!

There are many different reasons this could happen. The most common is due to arthritis that adds extra hard TISSUE in this area and squeezes the nerves. The other most common is a disc herniation that pushes out and squeezes the nerves. Just because you have a diagnosis of spinal stenosis does not at all mean it needs surgery, but it might.

Spinal stenosis can cause weakness, pain and paralysis if it is severe. In this video, I will discuss the definition, basic anatomy, as well as the image studies were used to see it, as well as some of the newer Technologies that Spine Surgeons are using tonight only fix this condition, but to treat it forever at that location of the spine!
