Four months of every year I move to fish camp on the Yukon River 730 miles upriver of the mouth and Bering Sea and 40 miles upriver of my home village of Tanana. Day to day life is often the same unless interrupted by minor flooding and drift logs hitting the fish wheels and nets, or lack of fish and a fish closure being instituted by the fish managers.
