Porting an engine is like painting a picture. Some artists have well refined ideas and their brush strokes are properly placed, crisp, smooth lines on the page. Having a port that is clean takes time, and it is key to the survival of your engine that you leave no jagged edges, and keep within the lines...for the most part.
