I was making a review of my new Dekopro cheap welding helmet when my yeswelder lygq800d welding helmet arrived. And boy, I was glad when I unboxed it because I immediately saw that it is loaded with so many helpful features that my Dekopro doesn’t have.

For your info, this yeswelder lygq800d welding helmet is one of those that are called panoramic welding helmets because their viewing lens is wider and it offers you a wideangle viewing from left to right. So as part of my goal to help you find the best welding products on the market, I made this yeswelder lygq800d review and compared its functionalities to my cheap Dekopro welding helmet which is more appropriate for welder beginners.

This video will let you see how a more expensive (almost $100) welding helmet can fare against a cheaper helmet that has also gathered good reviews. Simply, this is a comparison video of the yeswelder welding helmet against the cheap Dekapro ($35) welding helmet to help you guys decide which to buy and which can be a good investment for your eye health.

To summarize what this item offers, as I’ve said, this is a panoramic welding helmet that provides wideangle viewing. It also has a slot inside to support a magnifying glass if your eyes don’t work well without eyeglasses and you don’t normally find this on other welding helmets. But the most astonishing feature of this yeswelder welding helmet is it lets you choose the level of shade you want based on the comfort requirements of your eyes with a touch of a button.

Inside the helmet are buttons to help you choose shades if you want to weld (913 shade level) or to cut (5 – 9 shade level). It also has a button for “grinding” which means you can set the shade in a fixed mode so you don’t have to adjust shades every time you weld or cut metal.

Another thing I love about my yeswelder welding helmet is it comes with a spare battery which means it has a replaceable battery feature for its autodarkening capacity. Unlike my Dekopro which has a fixed battery and cannot be replaced, once the battery is gone, the helmet is almost useless.

As part of this yeswelder lygq800d review, I have also shown in this video how the lens of both of the two helmets reacted when I did MIG welding and plasma cutting and as you will see in this video, the yeswelder welding helmet provides a clearer view during the flashing arc.
