The Yanomami are among the last peoples to be touched by civilization. In 1955, their community numbered more than 35,000 people and covered a total area of 192,000 km2 between southern Venezuela and northern Brazil. But in 1988, they were forced to become sedentary due to a redistribution of the territory by the Brazilian government.
Through their testimonies, the shamans and village chiefs share their vision of the world, their sensitive link to nature, their traditions and the difficulty of maintaining them today.
