The grilles that cover our engine room ventilation fans have just been removed for maintenance, so this week I'm going to show you how the engine room ventilation system works.

Large fans ensure that the engines have enough air to breathe, and at the same time extract the heat that they produce. All of this hot air circulating around the yacht could present a real hazard in the event of a fire, so we're also going to be looking at how to shut everything down in an emergency.
