XL Bully Owners Will Get “Bigger And More Powerful Animal” After Breed Is Banned

The controversial ban on American XL Bully dogs is set to take effect in England and Wales this Sunday, December 31.

The law was announced in September after a rise in fatal attacks involving the breed.

Owners of XL Bullys will have to register their dog, which must be muzzled on a lead when in public. It will be made a criminal offence to breed, sell or give away an XL Bully.

Many owners are defending the breed and say that the problem lies with the owners who are not training their dogs correctly or are teaching them to be violent. Many are also advocating for the breed to be licensed, rather than banned.

TalkTV’s JJ Anisiobi and Daisy McAndrew are joined by XL Bully owner Sophie Coulthard and ‘Dogs Behaving Badly’ star Graeme Hall to discuss the controversial topic.

Sophie Coulthard says: “Owners who don’t care about these dogs will simply move on to another potentially bigger and more powerful animal.”

Graeme Hall says: “It is really unfair on the majority of XL Bully owners who are responsible.”
