In 2019, Mark set out to achieve the World Turkey Slam in one season. The World Turkey Slam consists of 6 subspecies of Wild Turkey found in the U.S. and Mexico including the Eastern, Osceola, Rio Grande, Merriam's, Gould's and the Ocellated. The Osceola is found in Florida whereas the Merriam's range through the Rocky Mountains and the neighboring prairies of Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota and the Eastern turkey that ranges throughout the eastern side of the U.S.. Rio Grande turkeys range through Texas to Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado, Oregon and Utah. The Gould's turkey are native from the central valleys to the northern mountains of Mexico and the southernmost parts of Arizona and New Mexico. The Ocellated turkey primarily resides in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. This is a challenge that few turkey hunters have achieved in one season.
