I'm in Riyadh, the city of my dreams, located in the heart of Saudi Arabia. Known for its blend of modernity and tradition, Riyadh offers a unique cultural experience. We're exploring local cafes and authentic restaurants, experiencing the vibrant culture, and savoring the rich flavors of traditional Saudi cuisine. Join me on this exciting journey and discover the unique charm of Riyadh. A special thank you to @flynas, awarded the Best LowCost Airline in the Middle East in 2023 and ranked 4th Best LCC worldwide.

First up we’re in Souk Al Zal, Riyadh's vibrant marketplace offering a diverse array of traditional Saudi goods. Lose yourself in its maze of alleyways filled with colorful textiles and intricate jewelry. Immerse your senses in the sights, sounds, and scents of local craftsmanship and exotic spices. Whether you're seeking unique souvenirs or a rich cultural experience, Souk Al Zal is a mustvisit destination in Riyadh. We were particularly fascinated when, during Adhan, all shops closed in a beautiful display of cultural tradition.

After our market adventure, we wandered into downtown Riyadh, where we encountered an elderly Saudi Arabian woman selling an array of delicious traditional foods. Her offerings included dolma, jareesh, margouk, and koshari—a mix of macaroni and split peas—as well as biryani and samosas. One of the exquisite dishes I tried reminded me of lasagna! Every bite was a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Saudi Arabia.

Continuing our exciting food tour, we visited Kaysariat Elketab Cafe and enjoyed marasi with Saudi coffee. Marasi, a traditional Arabic pancake topped with honey, was absolutely delicious and a perfect treat to complement our journey.

Our exploration led us to a traditional house resembling a palace, known as Vero. Here, we were fortunate to have the gracious Sara show us how to prepare jareesh and kabsa with chicken. We were served an amazing salad alongside a traditional Arabic yogurt drink. The jareesh, topped with raisins and onions, was incredible—unlike any I’ve had before, bursting with the love and authenticity only found in a true Arabic household. The kabsa, an authentic Arabic dish with juicy chicken and rice, was a highlight of the trip. Every bite was a delight, and I highly recommend everyone to try it!

Join me on this cultural and culinary journey through Riyadh, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more adventures. A heartfelt thank you once again to Flynas airline for making this culinary adventure possible.
