At the moment we are flying even longer because of the many crises in the world. We currently have to bypass many countries.” The detours cost time and fuel and have to be planned intensively. The route can also change at any time. On board today: 274 passengers, 800 meals, 300 liters of fresh water, 100 bottles of wine and sparkling wine, 20 liters of tomato juice and several tons of kerosene for the 9300 kilometers from Munich to Bangkok. Because of the long flight time, three pilots work in the cockpit. Longhaul flights across many countries mean a lot of work for the captain, senior first officer and first officer.
