" Going inside the house I saw a burning fireplace, it was warm and cozy here. "Is there anyone?" I exclaimed. In response there was only silence and the pleasant sounds of crackling wood from the fireplace. I tried to call the owner again, but there was no one in the house. Then I was a little shocked; a mediumsized dog came out of the next room. I didn't know how to react and just froze. He looked at me suspiciously and then walked towards me. The dog came close to me, my pulse quickened. A moment later he started licking my hand, I was happy because he was friendly towards me. At the same moment, the front door creaked, and a man entered the house from behind it; it was the owner of the house, Mr. Foster. "Buddy come to me!" he exclaimed. The friendly dog ran towards him happily wagging his tail. "Who are you and what are you doing in my house?" he said. I told him everything that I was an ordinary courier who brought him a parcel. I also told him that I would need somewhere to spend the night, as the snow blizzard was getting worse. “Oh yes, sir, here is your package,” I took out a small box from my bag and handed it into his hands. At that moment, tears appeared in his eyes. It was difficult to understand whether these were tears of joy or sadness, since at the same moment he was smiling. Then he went into another room and stayed there for some time. After he left the room, he said: “I am grateful to you that you delivered to me the parcel, which is very dear to me, in such difficult weather conditions. For this I am indebted to you. You can stay at my house for as long as you want. At your disposal is a separate room on the second floor of the house. Now, go wash your hands and sit down at the table, we’ll have dinner." I was pleasantly surprised by Mr. Foster’s hospitality. After that, we sat down at the table together. Mr. Foster was a very hospitable and kind man. At dinner he was in a great mood. Then we sat at the table, drank tea with cookies and chatted until late at night. In the morning there was no more snowfall, I got ready, thanked Mr. Foster, he thanked me in return for the parcel, and I went down the slope in the direction of the place where I had previously left my car. On the way home, I thought only about one thing: what was in that box? "
