This is not a guaranteed fix for your application, I just had a hair brained idea and went for it. There was 2 cracks between cylinders #2 & #3 on this F Head engine in a 1952 M38A1 that I picked up. So I decided what do I have to loose besides time and a $50 copper head gasket, since I already replaced the starter and distributor in trying to get it to run in the first place and then discovered the cracks . The engine in my opinion was not worth rebuilding based on the overall condition of this jeep, it has low compression from the cylinders having water in them for years. Why spend $1,000$2,000 on rebuilding the engine just to have a very well running ugly, beatup, rusty, brakes need help, seats need replaced, no lights are wired up, Jeep...
