Even if you assume there are two families in this sett, and I have only seen one lactating female, that still gives one family with 4 cubs and one with 3. I guess there must be two families. This sett was disused less than 10 years ago but has sprung back to life although the badgers have only one pasture nearby to feed on. They do have much more good woodland than normal in Midlothian.
