Why Your GE Ice Maker is Not Working

Has the Ice Maker in Your GE Appliance French Door Refrigerator stopped making ICE? Here are some easy fixes for when the ice stops flowing. You can do these Yourself with minimal digging around. First, the GE French Door ice maker is located in the door. Open up the compartment and take a look at the seals to make sure they are doing their job to keep cool air contained. Second, it may be silly but is the ice maker on? Thirdly, the freezer and ice maker areas have to be below 10 degrees or ice production stops. Freezer temperature can be measured with a thermometer. Check the flexible white bar, Keith points it out in the video, is it stuck? Is it in the right position?

If these solutions do not work for you then we recommend calling a professional as at this point the diagnoses goes into the mechanical parts. Fixing the refrigerator and ice maker yourself is cheaper but it could cause further damage to the appliance and break the warranty, racking up the bill in the long run. Pro Tip: buy warranties when purchasing major appliances. We always recommend warranties especially for expensive items to protect You in case something goes wrong.
