If you have ever used one of these small fuel pressure gauges you know they are accurate to within about 15psi... we all use them simply as reference of whether the car has fuel pressure or not, but why can’t they be better.

These small 1/8” NPT gauges like the one in this video are oil (liquid) filled to stand up to vibration.

If you’re like me this is frustrating. In the event you feel you’re getting false transducer reading to your efi system, or worse you just don’t know which one to trust, there is something definitely unsettling about trusting a cheap small gauge.

You see, as we found out, the oil actually heats up and causes pressure internally which makes for false readings.

Aeromotive released this gauge in this live feed mashup to solve all that. It has a small pressure relief whether a typical gauge has a fill cap. This means whether it’s ambient temperature or boiling hot, you can press the relief button, it drops the internal pressure and gives you an accurate reading. These gauges are only a few bucks more than a non pressure relief style and definitely make life nice!
