Is Colchester Zoo the best zoo in England or even the UK? Well we certainly think it is up there and this is why!

Join us as we explore this huge zoo and having arrived right at opening time we are greeted by many of the animals eating their breakfast. We also take a ride on the Lost Madagascar train to see the wolves, flamingoes and Lemurs.

The highlights of the day though have to be seeing the new baby rhino running around, the chimpanzees thundering in to the glass and of course seeing the incredible sun bears up close. All of that and so many more animals to see in our day at Colchester Zoo.

Who & what is JJ Extra?

We’re Josh & Jason, a British couple with a passion for everything travel & food (and lots of coffee). Whether at home in the UK or on our international travels we seek out everything from hidden gems to bucket list destinations, trying new foods and unique drinks wherever we go.

After meeting in early 2019 with dreams of travelling the World together we were all plunged in to the chaos of a global pandemic. Now, as we move in to the future we are making up for lost time and ensuring every day turns in to an adventure, fuelled by our love of food and an unhealthy (but enjoyable) addiction to coffee.

Over the last 2 years we have explored our beautiful home country like never before and in 2022 we were lucky enough to start travelling abroad once more and our dream to travel the world together has been reignited.

We love an adventure and in 2023 we are challenging ourselves to step out of our comfort zones & push ourselves to the limit as we take on bigger adventures than ever before, visit new places & try new experiences. So come along and join the adventure, you never know where it might lead!
