Judging from the comments on my last video, there is much misconception about if and when to replace vintage electrolytic capacitors. This video explain why, contrary to widespread internet lore, we don't feel compelled to replace all of our vintage electrolytic caps. Caveat emptor: although we are engineers in real life, we are dabbling hobbyists when it comes to component reliability. The physics and statistics of reliability is very heady stuff better left to specialized scientists and requires very complicated investigations.
