The Persuaders was a British TV series about two international playboys who teamed up to fight crime and charm women along the French Riviera. Behind the scenes, the show's stars, Roger Moore and Tony Curtis had a lessthanharmonious relationship that threatened to derail their hit show.

Roger Moore was already a TV star when he was cast as Lord Brett Sinclair, a suave and sophisticated English aristocrat with a penchant for adventure. He had played Simon Templar in The Saint for six seasons and was on his way to becoming James Bond.

Tony Curtis was a Hollywood legend who starred in classics like Some Like It Hot, The Defiant Ones, and Spartacus. He was cast as Danny Wilde, a selfmade American millionaire with a wisecracking attitude and a flashy wardrobe.

The Persuaders! was created by Lew Grade, a British media mogul who wanted to produce an actioncomedy series that would appeal to both sides of the Atlantic. He hired veteran writers and directors like Terry Nation, Brian Clemens, and Basil Dearden to craft witty and thrilling stories for the dynamic duo.

The show premiered on ITV and ABC in 1971 and became an instant success. The chemistry between Moore and Curtis was undeniable on screen, as they traded quips and punches with equal flair. The show also featured exotic locations, glamorous guest stars, and iconic cars a Ferrari Dino 246 GT for Curtis and an Aston Martin DBS for Moore.

But while the fans loved them, Moore and Curtis did not love each other. In fact, they clashed over everything from their acting styles to their personal habits. Their egos were as big as their salaries, which were reported at $1 million each per season.

What caused their rift? How did they cope with working together? And how did it affect the quality of the show? In this factspacked video, we will explore why Roger Moore & Tony Curtis didn't get along during The Persuaders! one of the most ambitious and expensive TV series of its time.
