The problem with the RHOA is that it no longer depicts an authentic representation of Black Upward Mobility. We tune into these shows to watch Black professionals and entrepreneurs attain success. That was the case for Nene, Phaedrea, Sheree, Kim, and Porsha. You could genuinely watch them start from the bottom and make it to the top. We do NOT want to watch has beens revive their careers. Thats not what Black upward mobility is about and its not entertaining or interesting. Carlos King has found magic with Love and Marriage Huntsville because along with the drama its an authentic representation of Black upward mobility. Thats also why Potomac works. And Married 2 Medicine. And ABOVE ALL, these shows HAVE to cast HBCU grads because HBCU grads are the epitome of Black upward mobility and have the education, networks, and pedigree to pull it off and make riveting TV. Andy Cohen thinks casting D and C list Black celebs is gonna work. Find some HBCU power players in ATL who wanna make great TV. Such as Rashan Ali.
