Antiques expert Tim Wonnacott and chef Rosemary Shrager visit Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire, where a 24yearold Queen Victoria stayed in 1843.

Victoria had been married for nearly four years but although she adored her husband Albert, neither the public nor the upper classes liked him much. So the spin doctors of the day arranged for him to ride with the famous Belvoir hunt to help boost his image. The day’s sport climaxed with a huge feast boasting a special Hunter’s Beef dish as its centrepiece, which food historian Ivan Day recreates here.

From Elizabeth II to Cleopatra, Real Royalty peels back the curtain to give a glimpse into the lives of some of the most influential families in the world, with new full length documentaries posted every week covering the monarchies of today and all throughout history.
