After posting this video I found more info on this animationThe flipbook animation on the backs of these cards is in fact an artist's best effort at recreating of what the animation would have looked like, based on a small handful of high res images, and ~35 extremely blurry low res images from original proof sheets. After comparing the blurry proof sheets to the animation in this set, it is clear to me that the animation is different. In the original, the kid flips as he falls. This recreated version doesn't do that. Still a good attempt and restoring and recreating the animation, but it is definitely different. [nerd mode over.]
