Why did these schools leave Power Conferences? (re-upload)

When it comes to NCAA schools leaving the Power 5, it's easier to look at the schools who did so because the conference they were in collapsed around them. We think of Big East schools like USF, Temple, and UConn, and Southwest schools like Rice, or, potentially, Pac 12 schools like Oregon State and Washington State, if they can't find a way to resurrect the PAC. But there's more depth to some of these situations than just being left behind in mergers or rearranging of chairs at board meetings. Some schools willingly make the decision to drop out of power conferences. And in the case of these three schools, they made the choice to drop out of the two strongest power conferences in scales of money.

In this video, I'll take the opportunity to look at three schoolstwo former SEC schools and one former B1G schooland see the similarities and differences in their situations and reasonings for departure. We'll see a few reasons as to why the Tulane Green Wave, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Chicago Maroons each decided to leave what would become the two largest college football conferences in the NCAA. For a little bit there, Georgia Tech wasn't even a member of the Power 5they were an independent. But there is a bit of a running theme, even for decisions made close to a hundred years in the past.
