gossip girl is probably one of the best known tv shows of the 2000s, so it's no surprise that hollywood decided to revisit the series (even if it's only been a decade since it ended). the gossip girl revival, which began airing in 2021, follows a new group of characters but is still set within the original show's continuity. the revival immediately drew backlash from audiences as it failed to usurp the original, thereby bringing its existence into question, and after only two seasons the show was cancelled by HBOMAX. in today's video we decided to take a look at all of the things that went wrong with the gossip girl reboot and why it might have been cancelled.
