"Yellowstone" has gone from a wellregarded cowboy series to a sprawling universe, with spinoffs like "1883," "6666," and "1932" all released or in production. It's all happened under the watchful eye of one man: Taylor Sheridan.

Sheridan, the "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" writer, has also created a number of other series, including "Mayor of Kingstown," "Tulsa King," "Lioness," "Land Man," and "Bass Reeves." While he may have a reputation as a writer and producer, originally, he was an actor, and you just may have seen his face in "1883."

"Yellowstone" superfans may already know everything about the franchise, in front of and behind the scenes – but more casual fans may need some help figuring out why Charles Goodnight from "1883" looks so familiar.
