Why are vets against raw food diets?

Why are vets against raw food diets? The reason why vets don’t like raw food diets, and why veterinarians never recommend raw diets have to do with the directions of regulatory agencies, as well as lack of training and lack of trust between owners and veterinarians.

One reason why veterinarians don't like raw food, and why vets discourage raw diets, is that the veterinary regulatory agencies, AVMA and CVMA, for example, discourage feeding raw diets to cats and dogs.
Another reason as to why they believe raw meat for cats is bad (and why they believe raw meat for dogs is bad) is that meat can be contaminated with bacteria that are of concern for public health. We all know that there’s tension between the raw feeding community and conventional vets. Since there’s a general lack of trust between owners and veterinarians, vets don’t trust that owners will follow safe handling practices and prepare safe, balanced raw diets for cats and for dogs.
But we know that, if we educate ourselves, we can easily prepare homemade cat food and homemade dog food diets that are species appropriate and healthy. In our opinion, if prepared and handled correctly, there’s really few reasons why you shouldn’t feed raw food to dogs and cats.
And most importantly, it’s important to take in all of the available information, both for and against what we believe, and to weigh them carefully.
