So, for most K5 models, they've got this 2.5liter engine that gives you 191 horsepower, and it's paired with this eightspeed automatic transmission. You can go for the standard frontwheel drive, or if you want, there's an option for allwheel drive.
But if you're into the highperformance stuff, the GT model is where it's at. It's got a turbocharged 2.5liter engine that packs a punch with 290 horsepower and 311 poundfeet of torque. Plus, it rocks this exclusive eightspeed dualclutch automatic transmission, also seen in the Hyundai Sonata N Line. And here's the cool part—the sportiest K5 version comes with bigger brakes, a special suspension setup, and wider tires on these awesome 19inch rims. It's a bit of a step up in performance.
The GT model achieved a 060 mph time of 5.2 seconds and a 70mph braking distance of 163 feet during testing. In comparison, the Sonata N Line, sharing the same engine and transmission, recorded a slightly quicker 060 mph time of 5.0 seconds and a shorter braking distance of 152 feet.
The expected starting price for the 2025 Kia K5 is around $27,000 and can reach up to $33,000, depending on the chosen trim and additional options. Here's an estimated breakdown:
