Just a quick video on the front struts replacement on my 5th Gen 4runner plus other suspension work.
Just to clarify, the struts were only replaced due to the rust that I saw at the base of the springs. They were not leaking or weak or even noisy.
The mileage on my 4runner at the time of replacement was 154,000 miles, considering the mileage I had no problem in paying $120 for a complete set of take offs (with 300 miles on them) .
I actually spend more on all the other parts $195 for both front sway bar links + bushings + upper strut bushings .
What are your thoughts, should I have squeezed some more miles out of them?
Would you have done the same?
If you don’t live in Canada or in the rust ring, you most likely will not have to deal with this rust.
